Who we are

Meet the Founder

Welcome! I’m Maricela Giner-Nevarez, LPC-S, founder of Hidden Oasis Counseling.

With more than 10 years of experience as a mental health professional, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals and families across a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and residential treatment environments. Throughout my career, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns and life challenges.

Throughout my career, I have held various clinical leadership roles, providing oversight and guidance across programs serving children, adolescents, and adults. These experiences have allowed me to support clinical operations, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality mental health services. Through these leadership experiences, I have developed a deep understanding of the importance of accessible, ethical, compassionate, and client-centered care.

In addition to my clinical and leadership experience, I have spent four years teaching Ethical, Legal, and Professional Issues in Counseling at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). I also provide clinical supervision to LPC Associates, supporting developing counselors as they grow their skills, confidence, and professional identity.

I have experience providing consultation on complex clinical cases, including situations involving challenging ethical dilemmas. Through consultation, I support mental health professionals in thoughtfully navigating complex clinical situations, considering ethical responsibilities, and making informed decisions that prioritize client welfare and professional standards.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and incorporate evidence-based approaches into my work to help clients process difficult experiences, develop effective coping skills, and move toward healing and meaningful change.

At Hidden Oasis Counseling, I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe, respected, understood, and empowered. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, recognizing that every individual brings their own unique experiences, strengths, and goals to the therapeutic process. Whether you are working through trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional challenges, or simply navigating a difficult season of life, you do not have to face it alone. My goal is to provide a supportive space where you can pause, heal, and move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and hope.

This is your space to be heard, understood, and supported.

Our approach

Healing begins with understanding.

Every person's story is different, which is why every counseling experience is unique.

Find your oasis

Healing begins by creating a safe place to pause, breathe, and feel supported.

Understand your story

We'll take time to understand your experiences, strengths, relationships, and goals before creating a path forward together.

Heal with purpose

Using compassionate, evidence-based care, we'll work together to build resilience, strengthen emotional wellness, and create meaningful change.

Grow with confidence

Healing isn't about becoming someone different—it's about rediscovering yourself with greater confidence, balance, and hope.
